Biolubricants : How to choose the right ultimate biodegradability test method ? The use of bio-based materials is beneficial with reference to the fossil resources depletion, the climate change and the water and soil pollution. In some application the lubricant is directly widespread in the nature due to its normal use like in the loss lubrication ; in some other applications, leakages or accidents leads to contaminate the environment. Moreover, it is recognised that, in Europe, more than 1 million ton per year is not recovered. The biodegradability of the final product is a key parameter so its evaluation has to be done with the most suitable test method.
As every year, BfB Oil Research conducts a customer satisfaction survey based on the NPS method. The results of the latest survey are very encouraging. BFB’s NPS is 63 for an average of 8.7/10.
