Physical-chemical research and testing

Physical-chemical research and testing conducted by our analytical laboratory allows for determining the physico-chemical properties of fluids, characterizing them, tracking their evolution over time, controlling their contamination, or verifying their compliance with specifications (or requirements).

This type of research and testing is particularly recommended, especially before the introduction of new lubricants onto the market, to verify their quality, compliance, and safety.

CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR PERFORMANCE TESTS

Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, our Eurofins BfB laboratory offers a series of physico-chemical measurements, all carried out according to standardized methods (AFNOR, ASTM, CEC, DIN, EN, ISO, NBN, etc.):

  • Viscometry (kinematic, dynamic, HT-HS,…)
  • Titrimetry (TAN, TBN, Karl Fisher, Indices…)
  • Spectrometry (ICP-OES, X-ray fluorescence, AAS)
  • Spectrophotometry (UV-visible-IR)
  • Chemiluminescence
  • Chromatography (GC, HPLC)
  • CHN analysis
  • Properties at high and low temperatures
  • Etc.

In order to ensure precise and reliable results, our laboratory uses state-of-the-art techniques such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, X-Ray FS, ICP-OES, AAS, etc.

We can also perform customized tests according to your specific needs.

Our team of experienced scientists conducts research and physico-chemical tests on various types of fluids:

Gear oil, compressor oil, hydraulic oil, turbine oil, engine oil, transmission oil, cutting fluid, neat oil, soluble oil, heat transfer fluid, gasoline, diesel fuel, biodiesel, heating oil, petroleum, antifreeze, de-icing fluid (aircraft de-icing), coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, dielectric fluid, grease, detergent, wastewater, etc.
